Description

Spirulina pellets for horses

Horse Adds Spirulina Pellets consist of 100% Spirulina, pressed into an easy to feed pellet. This dried blue-green algae supports the immune system and helps maintain healthy respiratory tracts. Spirulina is rich in Beta-carotene, Vitamin C and Vitamin E, which are powerful oxidants to protect healthy cells and tissues. An excellent source of protein, it contains all the essential amino acids and is rich in omega-3 and -6 in an optimal ratio.

Spirulina is rich in beta-carotene (a precursor to vitamin A), vitamin C and vitamin E. These compounds are important antioxidants that protect the body from free radicals and help maintain healthy cells and tissues.

Combined with flaxseed oil

Many horses suffer from very sensitive and irritated skin during the summer. Spirulina, in combination with flaxseed oil, can be supportive of healthy skin during this time. Flaxseed oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, while spirulina contains the omega-6 fatty acid gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). Both omega-3 and GLA fatty acids support the skin's repair capabilities.

Rich in vitamin B1

Spirulina is rich in vitamin B1 (thiamine). This water-soluble vitamin is produced by the horse itself in the large intestine through the fermentation process of roughage. In addition, the horse gets vitamin B1 through fresh grass. Sometimes, however, the horse may not produce enough vitamin B1. This can occur when the intestinal flora is out of balance. Thiamine is important for carbohydrate metabolism; it helps the horse release energy from carbohydrates, including sugars. In addition, thiamine contributes to normal nervous system function. Low thiamine levels in horses can lead to restless behavior. A thiamine supplement supports normal resistance to stress.
