What horses is a licking bucket suitable for?

Is a licking bucket suitable for inside the barn or outside in the pasture?
You can do both! A licking bucket is ideal for placing with groups of horses in the pasture or paddock, but can also be used very well in the stable. The bucket can also be left outside. Only if there is a lot of rain, a layer of water may remain on the bucket. It is then wise to pour this water off, so that the horses do not first have to go through a layer of water with their noses to reach the mixture. To make carrying and moving the licking bucket easier, there is a handle on the bucket. For safety, we recommend removing the handle when placing the bucket on the ground.
Is a mineral lick bucket the same as a (mineral) lick?
Although both a lick and a lick bucket are designed to allow the horse to supplement a deficiency according to its own needs, they are certainly not the same thing. A lick consists primarily of salt. A mineral lick also contains a small proportion of other minerals, but the main component is still salt. This is not the case with a lick bucket. A lick bucket contains almost all the vitamins and minerals a horse needs and is thus a much more comprehensive supplement than a lick.
How long does a horse do with a licking bucket?
It is logical that this question is often asked, but here we cannot actually give a good answer. This is because it depends on many factors, such as the quantity and quality of roughage, concentrate and the horse's needs.
