HorseAdds Psyllium consists of the dried and ground husks of the seeds of the Plantago Ovato plant. Compared to whole psyllium seeds, the psyllium husk in HorseAdds Psyllium contains up to three times more fiber. Psyllium consists largely of water-soluble fiber and when it comes in contact with water it forms a gel. Psyllium stimulates the absorption of moisture from the intestines and helps make stools thicker. In addition, psyllium supports intestinal passage, protects the intestinal wall and promotes intestinal cleansing.
Research has shown that 50 to 100 grams per 100 kg of body weight, for 7 to 10 days, promotes intestinal cleansing. Thereby, Epsom salt or magnesium sulfate seems to enhance the function of psyllium.
