When can I use Perfect Skin Oil?
Use Perfect Skin Oil for any of the skin problems listed below on legs, tail or mane. The oil is also suitable as a preventive measure to keep your horse's skin healthy and balanced.
- Itching - Itching of the legs can be very unpleasant for your horse. It often manifests as rubbing, biting or stamping and can lead to wounds or bald spots. Perfect Skin Oil soothes the skin and helps soothe itching, allowing the skin to recover faster.
- Eczema - Eczema is a hypersensitive skin reaction characterized by redness, scaling and crusting. The oil supports the skin's natural recovery and contributes to a healthy skin barrier, reducing irritation.
- Mite - Mites cause severe itching and can lead to hair loss or skin thickening. The oil cares for irritated skin and supports recovery after skin irritations caused by mange mites.
- Mug - Mug often occurs in the fetlock cavities and manifests as scabs, redness or even fissures. Through its nurturing properties, Perfect Skin Oil helps keep the skin supple and supports the skin in repairing this vulnerable area.

What does Perfect Skin Oil consist of?
Perfect Skin Oil consists of purified mineral oil with added sulfur, specially formulated to promote skin's repairing ability and to protect and nourish healthy skin.
Mineral oil
Mineral oils are often used to support horses' skin. They can prevent skin irritation caused by external stimuli, and help restore the skin barrier. An added benefit is that the risk of allergic reactions is very low. Therefore, care products for the treatment of eczema are also often mineral oil-based.
A mineral oil applied to the skin forms an insulating layer that nourishes and protects the skin, but no substances enter the blood. Sensitive, irritated or cracked skin will quickly recover. This insulating layer does not mean that the skin can no longer absorb oxygen. Oxygen reaches the skin from the inside through the blood. Also, sebum can simply be drained and pores do not get clogged by mineral oil.
Sulfur
Sulfur has antifungal, antibacterial and keratolytic effects. Keratolytic products stimulate the natural process by which dead skin cells exfoliate.
No studies have been done on the effect of sulfur on the specific type of mites found in horses. However, there are studies on other mite species and they have shown that sulfur has a toxic effect on nymphs and adult mites in particular and that sulfur prevents the spread of mites.
User Manual
Shake the bottle well before use. Apply the oil with a clean brush and work as hygienically as possible. Preferably do not dip used brushes directly back into the bottle. After application, avoid direct sunlight on the treated skin.
